
COLUMBUS, Ohio — As another recruiting dead period deadline creeps closer, Ohio State football’s top recruits and commits are eager for the opportunity to finally notch an official visit to Columbus. The dead period, which has seen multiple extensions and been in place since last March, has prevented student athletes and coaches from in-person recruiting, relegating the entire 2021 class to discover their school through phone conversations, Zoom calls and text messages. That period has come and gone however, and those athletes have found their way to campus after signing day. But the 2022 class is still stuck in the loop. That may soon be changing.
