COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State football program has developed the type of national rivalry with Clemson that can often define an era of sports. What started as a random meeting in the 2013 Orange Bowl has blossomed, especially now that both schools are recruiting quarterbacks at a high level. That began in 2019 when Justin Fields and Trevor Lawrence met in the Fiesta Bowl with a trip to the National Championship on the line. Those two represented the best the 2018 recruiting class had to offer. They were linked throughout their college careers, and should they continue to excel, it’ll follow them into the NFL.
