Ohio State basketball’s Duane Washington Jr. declares for the 2021 NBA Draft


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State basketball’s Duane Washington Jr. has announced that he has declared for the 2021 NBA Draft. The junior is the second player from the Buckeyes’ 2020-21 roster to do so joining E.J. Liddell. Unlike Liddell, Washington’s graphic posted on social media does not specify whether he is intending to do so while maintaining his eligibility or not. He has one year left. Washington is coming off of his best season at OSU averaging a team-high 16.4 points per game on 41 percent from the field and 37.4 percent from the three-point range. That included reaching the 30-point mark twice this season in losses to Illinois and Michigan. He came alive in the Big Ten tournament averaging 23 points in four games while leading the Buckeyes to the championship game.
