COLUMBUS, Ohio — Aamil Wagner of Huber Heights Wayne High School has always been willing to do whatever was necessary to help his team win. If it were up to him, he wouldn’t be an offensive lineman tasked with protecting skill players so they can put points on the board. He’d be one of those skill players. At least that’s why he got into playing the sport in the first place. “I played wide receiver my freshman year,” Wagner told cleveland.com. “My brother played wide receiver his senior year, and with me being skinny back in middle school, I came in with the same mentality to be like him. Then after not playing much my freshman and sophomore year, I planned to switch on my own to defensive end.” The Warriors’ coaching staff had different plans for Wagner.
