What Ryan Turner’s commitment means for Ohio State football: Buckeye Recruiting


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Some of Ohio State football’s biggest defensive back success stories have come from the 3-star ranks. Malik Hooker came in as the No. 360 player in the 2014 recruiting class and left three years later as a first-round NFL Draft pick. Damon Arnette had an even lower profile in the 2015 class — No. 653 — and still developed into a first-round selection. The above is not a prediction that Ryan Turner — who committed to the Buckeyes on Wednesday — will also develop into a first-rounder. The cornerback out of Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Hollywood, Florida, was ranked No. 380 in the 247 Sports national composite at the moment he committed.
