Chris Holtmann 'excited' about the opportunity to add a new assistant to Ohio State's staff

It came as a surprise to Buckeye Nation in late April when it was announced that assistant men’s basketball coach Terry Johnson was leaving Ohio State for a similar job with Purdue. Johnson had worked with head coach Chris Holtmann since 2013 — both at Butler and with the Scarlet and Gray — and, like with his other assistants, the thought was he would only leave Ohio State for a better opportunity, While moving one state over and remaining in the Big Ten as an assistant coach may not seem like that better opportunity, it did provide Johnson with something different that he had been looking for.
