COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State dropped an 8-2 decision to the Northwestern Wildcats Sunday afternoon at Bill Davis Stadium after previously winning the series by taking the first two games on Friday and Saturday evening. The Wildcats jumped out to a 5-1 lead after three innings, increased the lead to 7-2 in the sixth, and had a contingent of eight pitchers hold Ohio State’s bats in check by allowing just seven hits. Tyler Uberstine started and got the win to even his record at 3-3. Freshman Nate Haberthier started his first game as a Buckeye, worked 3.0 innings, allowed four earned runs off five hits, and took the loss in his first career decision.
