
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State football program’s Buckeye Bash 2.0 over the weekend might be a huge success when it’s all said and done, but it’s hard to not notice a lack of presence when it comes to top linebacker and running back targets for the 2022 class. The massive recruiting weekend was heavy on offensive line targets like Zach Rice and defensive line targets like Omari Abor, but where are the RBs and LBs? Virginia four-star linebacker Shawn Murphy was thought to be one of the top targets in the class, but he spent his week being courted by SEC schools like Georgia, Florida and LSU. Damari Alston, a top running back target for the Buckeyes over the past six months, was also basking in the southern comfort, making stops at Florida and LSU.
