Former Ohio State Sports Information Director Marv Homan passes away

The Ohio State athletic staff and Buckeye Nation are mourning the loss of former Scarlet and Gray sports information director Marv Homan. Homan passed away earlier this month, the university announced on Tuesday, at the age of 94. Homan was a longtime member of the Ohio State athletic department, serving in various roles from 1949 to 1987. He worked with a number of Buckeye greats, including Woody Hayes, Earle Bruce as coaches and Archie Griffin, Vic Janowicz and Howard “Hopalong” Cassady as players. He also worked as a play-by-play announcer for both football and basketball on television and radio. Homan was inducted into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2007. Following his graduation from Ohio State with an English degree in 1948, Homan worked at WONE in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio for a year.
