Marv Homan, longtime Ohio State football radio and TV voice and administrator, dies at 94


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Marv Homan’s tenure with Ohio State football stretched before and after Woody Hayes’ entire 27-year coaching career and included three Heisman Trophy winners. Homan, who died on June 2 at age 94, spent 39 years with the Ohio State sports information office, including 15 years as the director. He also spent 30 years as Buckeye football’s radio and television voice and another 20 on OSU basketball broadcasts. He broadcast four Rose Bowls and claimed to have missed only one football game out of 403 in a 39-year span that dated back to his time as an OSU student in the 1940s. The Dayton native began his OSU SID affiliation in the final two seasons of Wes Fessler’s tenure, spanned Hayes’ entire career and included nine seasons with Earle Bruce.
