COLUMBUS, Ohio — If there’s one thing that the 2021 recruiting cycle taught us, it’s that the discussion surrounding potential No. 1 class for Ohio State football can’t start until Alabama’s had its say. The Buckeyes dominated the recruiting trail for the first half of the year during a global pandemic despite being limited to zoom calls. The spring of 2020 seemed to produce a new commit every other day, leading to discussions of if the group could be historical. Ryan Day and his staff were having so much recruiting success that we forgot that eventually, things would get rolling in Tuscaloosa. Then the summer came, the Crimson Tide got to work.
