Nicholas Petit-Frere arrived at Ohio State ahead of the 2018 season as a five-star prospect and the top offensive tackle in his class. As the seventh-best player in the country, there was an expectation that Petit-Frere would, at some point, be the left tackle for the Buckeyes, the premier position for an offensive lineman. But when Petit-Frere got to the Scarlet and Gray, Thayer Munford, a sophomore at the time, had won the job for the 2018 season. Over the last three years, Munford developed into one of the best left tackles in the country. This meant Petit-Frere began his college career at right tackle, backing up Isaiah Prince.
