
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football took an uninspiring 13-6 lead into halftime of Saturday’s game against Tulsa. Many Buckeye fans were uninspired to attend well before the game started. Ohio State announced an attendance of only 76,540. A program spokesperson said he believed that included tickets scanned, workers at the stadium and others in attendance. It likely does not reflect the extent of tickets sold. Last week, Ohio State announced an attendance of 100,482 against Oregon. The program had made a push all week to drive up ticket sales for that game. The subsequent loss, and the lack of interest in a matchup with Tulsa, likely contributed to poor attendance. Ohio State also encountered significant technological delays on stadium admittance and ticket sales for the Oregon game, which it planned to have corrected this week.
