
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Tulsa running back Deneric Prince took a dump-off pass, headed up field and had no Ohio State defenders within 15 yards. Yet when Prince attempt to plant a foot and cut back inside, he instead wiped out flat on his face. On the first play of the Buckeyes’ ensuing series, C.J. Stroud’s pass toward the sideline came nowhere near intended receiver Chris Olave. He had slipped while making the cut for his out route and ended up sprawled on the Ohio Stadium field turf. Two examples of poor footing on the FieldTurf inside the Horeshoe this season, and last Saturday’s game was not even 10 minutes old.
