What A.J. Harris’ commitment date means for Ohio State football: Buckeyes Recruiting


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Five-star defensive back A.J. Harris has set a commitment date for Jan. 11, and that’s a good sign for the Ohio State football team. The nation’s No. 13 player and No. 3 cornerback will decide between the Buckeyes, Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, North Carolina and Notre Dame on the same day of the National Championship Game. Interestingly, this is a scenario OSU has seen before. Just hours before the 2014 title game against Oregon, Ohio State’s 2017 recruiting class started with a commitment from a five-star cornerback living in SEC country named Shaun Wade. This wouldn’t be exactly the same given that the 2023 class already has a commitment in tight end Ty Lockwood, but the idea still remains. Ohio State has a good chance of winning this battle.
