The pass sailed high over his head and into an Ohio State defender’s chest. Rutgers wide receiver Bo Melton did his best to pursue cornerback Denzel Burke after his interception of Noah Vedral four minutes into the Buckeyes’ 52-13 rout of the Scarlet Knights on Saturday afternoon. He never had a chance. As Melton sprinted in pursuit he was blindsided by Ohio State safety Lathan Ransom near the goal-line. At the same moment a 300-pound Rutgers lineman accidentally collided with the Scarlet Knights 5-foot-11, 195-pound star play-maker in the end zone. Seconds after getting up from the turf Melton was taken to the tent to get checked out by the Rutgers medical staff. He attempted a comeback, returning to action five minutes later.
