Halfway through the season, Ohio State had made its Oregon loss vanish: Doug Lesmerises


COLUMBUS, Ohio — It’s been less than a month, and the loss is gone. What Ohio State allowed to happen against Oregon on Sept. 11 has been wiped clean. On offense, quarterback C.J. Stroud is healthy and mature, looking like he’s grown two years in 28 days. On defense, the Buckeyes adjusted some of the players on the field and changed what they told them to do. The repeated mistakes of that day have been reprogrammed out of the system. And on their resume, it doesn’t matter. The difference between this 5-1 Ohio State team and a 6-0 team that might have managed to escape the Ducks is negligible.
