Ohio State football fans eager to fill the void left by cancellation of The Game against Michigan in 2020


COLUMBUS, Ohio — From their Ohio State football fandom to pumpkin pie, J.J. Lahey and his uncle, Ty Daniels, fended for themselves every year at Thanksgiving. Lahey, a Toledo native, lived year-round in enemy territory in the northern Michigan city of Gaylord. Every year, Daniels and other family members came up for the holiday and stayed around to watch The Game. Most of them were Wolverine fans. So Lahey and Daniels talked about the Buckeyes while making pumpkin pie together — they had little company in their fandom for that, too — then enjoyed the extension of the winning streak on Saturday.
