COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State basketball team will face Florida in its third game as part of the 2021 Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off. The Buckeyes beat Bowling Green in a home game to open the event then beat Seton Hall in its first game in Fort Myers, Fla. The Gators beat California on Monday. This will be the 14th time the two programs have played each other with the most recent being a 74-66 win for Florida in the second round of the 2016 NIT Tournament. It’s the first regular-season matchup since 2011, when both teams were ranked in the top 10 in what was an 81-74 win for the Buckeyes. The most notable matchups were during the 2006-07 season when Florida won in both the regular season and in the National Championship Game — achieving a championship repeat from 2005-06.
