What Chris McClellan’s commitment to Florida means for Ohio State football: Buckeyes Recruiting


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Chris McClellan of Owasso High School in Oklahoma has committed to Florida, removing another name off Ohio State football’s 2022 defensive line recruiting board. There was a time when it looked like the nation’s No. 101 player and No. 18 defensive lineman may be the first player in the Buckeyes’ class, paving the way for others to quickly join him. That didn’t happen, as instead, his momentum took him all over the place from OSU to potentially staying home and being a Sooner before eventually choosing the Gators. The four-star recruit is now the highest-rated member of a 12-man class that ranked 30th nationally and 11th in the SEC but could be seeing a massive exodus of commitments after the Gators fired head coach Dan Mullen.
