Michigan’s Haskins, Hutchinson earn Big Ten honors after upset win over Ohio State


The two players central to Michigan’s monumental win over Ohio State earned nods from the Big Ten this week. Hassan Haskins and Aidan Hutchinson earned player of the week honors from the conference on Monday, two days after the Wolverines’ 42-27 victory over the Buckeyes. Michigan (11-1, 8-1 Big Ten) will play Iowa for the Big Ten championship on Saturday in Indianapolis (noon, FOX). Haskins, a senior running back, rushed 28 times for 169 yards and five touchdowns in the win, tying a single-game program record for touchdowns. He finishes the regular season with 18 rushing touchdowns, second-most in program history with Anthony Thomas (2000) and Chris Perry (2003). The St. Louis, Mo., native is just one of three FBS running backs to record five rushing touchdowns in a game this season. This is Haskins’ first career weekly award from the Big Ten.
