
Syracuse, N.Y. — Kaia Henderson, sporting a black Ohio State sweatshirt, walked into the Carrier Dome around 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday with her teammates from the New Hartford girls basketball team to watch her future school play the very same program that extended her a scholarship offer as a freshman. It was a surreal moment for Henderson, a former Syracuse recruit and one of the most prolific scorers in Section III girls basketball history. She will graduate from high school later this month and join the Buckeyes in January to get a head start on building chemistry with her teammates. “It feels kind of insane because I didn’t realize (high school) would go by so fast, but I’m really excited,” Henderson told syracuse.com.
