Ohio State is a team built on strong recruiting and development and the best Buckeye teams are often led by veteran players. But every year, there are freshmen that find a way to make an impact and have success early on despite the more experienced talent on the roster. That was again the case in 2021. And on Thursday, three Scarlet and Gray young players, quarterback C.J. Stroud, running back TreVeyon Henderson and cornerback Denzel Burke, were honored among the 14 semifinalists for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award by the Maxwell Football Club. Ohio State is the only school to have three semifinalists, while Georgia has two.
