Four-star cornerback Terrance Brooks flips commitment from Ohio State to Texas

Ohio State is losing the highest-ranked cornerback in its 2022 recruiting class. Terrance Brooks, a four-star recruit from Little Elm, Texas, who had been verbally committed to the Buckeyes since June, announced on Wednesday that he had flipped to Texas and would be signing with the home-state Longhorns. “I feel like it would be special for me to be home,” he said during an announcement live-streamed by Stadium. It was the only unexpected development for the Buckeyes on the first day of the early signing period. Seventeen of 19 commits entering the day signed letters of intent with Ohio State by mid-morning with the only exceptions being Brooks and Gabe Powers, a linebacker from Marysville who plans to sign with the Buckeyes at a ceremony on Friday.
