
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s 2023 recruiting class has added a third member in Cedrick Hawkins of Cocoa High School in Florida. The four-star recruit is the nation’s No. 226 player and No. 20 safety. He chose the Buckeyes over 18 other schools. He joins Bruce Judson — who ended up flipping to Oregon — and Jamel Dean as players the Buckeyes have landed from the high school both in the 2015 class. This is the second straight year OSU has started off the new year with a commitment from a defensive back from Florida. Last season five-star cornerback Jaheim Singletary served as that doing so the day after a win over Clemson in the Sugar Bowl.
