
PASADENA, Calif. — Ohio State football’s offense, missing two star receivers who opted out of the Rose Bowl, sputtered on its first two drives and fell into a 14-0 hole against Utah. The freshmen who replaced Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson sparked a successful third drive that finally got the Buckeyes on the board. Emeka Egbuka hauled in a nifty sideline catch, netting 30 yards to the Utah 34 as OSU crossed midfield for the third time. But the drive threatened to stall when TreVeyon Henderson was stuffed for no gain on a third-and-1 run at the Utes’ 25. Rather than trying to win up front again on fourth down, OSU went over the top.
