Ohio State football expected to hire UCLA assistant Justin Frye as next offensive line coach

Four days after parting ways with offensive line coach Greg Studrawa as part of this offseason’s coaching staff maneuvering, Ohio State has found a replacement. The Buckeyes are set to hire UCLA offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Justin Frye, a move that should be made official later Monday, The Dispatch has confirmed. Frye, 38, has longstanding connections with coach Ryan Day as they spent four seasons together on staffs at Boston College and Temple, overlapping at the schools from 2011-14. Since Frye left Boston College in 2017, he has been an assistant under Chip Kelly at UCLA, first joining the Bruins as the offensive line coach before adding the title of offensive coordinator the following season.
