Former Ohio State football quarterback Tate Martell retiring from football: Report


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Tate Martell’s long, nomadic college football career could have lasted one more season. Instead, the former Ohio State football top prospect has decided to retire, according to Joe Arrigo of The Franchise Las Vegas. Arrigo said Martell, who spent last season with UNLV in his hometown, is “focusing on business ventures.” Martell played in only two games this past season for the Runnin’ Rebels, and only attempted a pass in one of them. He encountered a series of injuries and was not available for much of the season. Those were Martell’s first snaps since he played in three games for Miami in 2019. Martell arrived at Ohio State as part of the 2017 signing class as a four-star prospect, ranked No. 56 in the 247 Sports national composite.
