
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s 2023 recruiting class continues what’s been a successful run of commitments in July with the addition of Jelani Thurman of Langston Hughes High School in Georgia. The nation’s No. 135 player and No. 9 tight end chose the Buckeyes over 28 other schools, with Alabama, Auburn and Michigan State also getting official visits. He joins Ty Lockwood as tight ends in the class. Lockwood is the No. 133 player and No. 8 tight end. This is the first time they’ve had multiple tight ends in a class since 2016 when they brought in Jake Hausman, Luke Farrell and Kierre Hawkins, who transferred to Youngstown State after one season. The four-star recruit continues what’s been a successful run of commitments from OSU’s biggest official visit weekend of the summer on June 24.
