
Ohio State baseball’s closer from the 2022 season is off to the MLB. Right-handed pitcher TJ Brock was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays with the No. 188 pick in the sixth round of the 2022 MLB draft Monday. The Buckeyes have developed 111 draft picks in school history, 38 of which have made it to the big leagues including, most recently, left-handed pitcher Tanner Tully for the Cleveland Guardians. Ohio State had 28 draft picks under head coach Greg Beals, who was fired May 22 after 11 seasons with the Buckeyes. After allowing 37 earned runs in 39.1 innings pitched through his first two seasons with the Buckeyes, Brock proved to be a strong piece at the back end of the bullpen, saving 11 games for the past two seasons while allowing 12 earned runs in 38.1 innings pitched.
