COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State basketball’s 2023 class added its fourth member and first from an out-of-state target on Sunday in Scotty Middleton of Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas. The nation’s No. 34 player and No. 6 small forward chose the Buckeyes over 15 other schools with Connecticut and Seton Hall also getting official visits. He joins four-star guard George Washington III, four-star forward Devin Royal and four-star center Austin Parks in the class. All four members are ranked inside the top 105. Middleton is the only player in the class not currently attending a school in Ohio. He spent his sophomore year at The Patrick School in New Jersey before transferring to Sunrise last season leading the team to a 24-1 record as the nation’s top team.
