COLUMBUS, Ohio — Scotty Middleton joined Devin Royal as Ohio State basketball commits over the past few days, and now the class might be in the hunt for a recruiting championship. The Buckeyes’ 2023 recruiting class features four players all in the top 105 forming the nation’s third-best class. Ahead of them are blue bloods Duke and Kentucky, with the Wildcats holding onto a 0.49-point lead. Chris Holtmann is starting to recruit at a higher level. Malaki Branham gave him his first on-and-done as a top 50 recruit in the 2021 class, then he followed that up with a 2022 class that ranked sixth nationally. That freshmen group features four top 70 recruits all expected to have roles this season.
