Ohio State passed an obvious test Saturday night. The showdown against Notre Dame had been front and center for the Buckeyes’ all off-season. Ohio State faces a less-obvious test this week against Arkansas State. The Red Wolves are not to be confused with the Arkansas Razorbacks of the Southeastern Conference. Arkansas State plays in the Sun Belt Conference. The Red Wolves, coached by former Tennessee coach Butch Jones, were 2-10 last year. They won their opener last week over Grambling 58-3. Ohio State, No. 3 in the major polls after slipping behind Georgia, is a 44-point favorite. This should be a comfortable win, a chance to fix the deficiencies against Notre Dame and get backups ample playing time. But coach Ryan Day’s mantra all year has been “competitive stamina.” Part of that is having the physical ability to play well throughout a hard game. Another part is being mentally prepared…
