Ohio State slipped in the polls in the aftermath of their season-opening win over Notre Dame on Saturday. The Buckeyes dropped one spot to No. 3 in both the Associated Press and USA TODAY Sports Coaches polls released Tuesday afternoon. They were overtaken by defending national champion Georgia after it routed Oregon 49-3 in Atlanta, the most lopsided game between ranked teams over opening weekend. The Ducks were just outside the top-10 in the preseason polls. As they lost ground, the Buckeyes received a smaller portion of first-place votes, picking up only two apiece from the AP voters and coaches. In the AP poll, Michigan is ranked one spot behind the Buckeyes at No. 4 following its 51-7 drubbing of Colorado State, followed by Clemson. The teams are flip-flopped in the coaches’ poll.
