Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud expecting the unexpected from Iowa’s confident defense

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s offense has bent five straight opponents to its will heading into the second half of the season. Quarterback C.J. Stroud, though, rejects the notion that the Buckeyes benefit from any intimidation factor. The way he sees it, the opposite may be true. “This is football, man,” Stroud said after Wednesday’s practice. “No one fears us. We don’t fear nobody. I don’t think people walk into the game and go, “Alright, here we go. Ohio State’s about to just bomb us.’ “… Everybody we’ve played this year has lined up and said, ‘This is our shot to prove to the world that we can play with these dudes,’ and I respect that.” Ohio State will face few if any defenses prouder than the one Iowa brings to Ohio Stadium on Saturday.
