COLUMBUS, Ohio — Jim Knowles was brought in to fix Ohio State football’s defense, and through seven games, it looks like he’s succeeded in doing so far. The Buckeyes rank inside the top five nationally in numerous categories living up to the defensive coordinator’s preseason expectations for the unit. The early returns have been positive, but they’ve also happened while keeping things vanilla for the most part. “You want to give the players some super, but not too much sugar because too much sugar’s not good for anybody,” Knowles said. “You just try to point out the things and give them a clap on the back for that.
