With Ohio State leading 69-68, the Boilermakers (14-1, 3-1 Big Ten) made the final play and got the final stop to defeat the Buckeyes (10-4, 2-1). Felix Okpara drew a foul on Purdue’s Zach Edey with 1:57 remaining and hit the first free throw to tie the game at 66, but when he missed the second Justice Sueing nabbed the offensive rebound and the Buckeyes called timeout. Freshman Roddy Gayle missed a deep jumper, and when Ohio State’s Sean McNeil deflected an entry pass to Zach Edey, Purdue called timeout with 1:14 to play and seven seconds on the shot clock.
