Fletcher Loyer's 3-pointer in the final seconds leads Purdue past Ohio State

Fletcher Loyer’s 3-pointer with 11 seconds remaining handed No. 1 Purdue a stunning, 71-69 win at No. 24 Ohio State on Thursday night. With Ohio State leading 69-68, the Boilermakers (14-1, 3-1 Big Ten) made the final play and got the final stop to defeat the Buckeyes (10-4, 2-1). Felix Okpara drew a foul on Purdue’s Zach Edey with 1:57 remaining and hit the first free throw to tie the game at 66, but when he missed the second Justice Sueing nabbed the offensive rebound and the Buckeyes called timeout. Freshman Roddy Gayle missed a deep jumper, and when Ohio State’s Sean McNeil deflected an entry pass to Zach Edey, Purdue called timeout with 1:14 to play and seven seconds on the shot clock. Mason Gillis got a wide-open 3 in the left corner but missed, and the Buckeyes advanced the ball past midcourt to call timeout with 59.5 seconds…
