COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State safety Josh Proctor earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors after the team’s 37-17 win over Maryland on Saturday. Proctor tied a career-best with seven tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss, and had a 24-yard interception return for a touchdown in the second quarter with the Buckeyes down 10-0. It was their only touchdown of the first half. This season, Proctor has 23 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and three pass breakups. After the win, coach Ryan Day said that Proctor was, “The best version of himself now,” and added that in order for Ohio State to reach the goals it wants to, Proctor will have to keep that level of play up.
