COLUMBUS, Ohio — The fact pulled from the Ohio State football game notes seemed to smack coach Ryan Day across the face. In one of the first questions at his Tuesday press conference, Day was reminded of OSU’s 3-5 record in West Lafayette since 2000. “Geez,” Day blurted out, as if he knew the Buckeyes’ history at Ross-Ade was bad, just not that bad. Day vividly remembers the most recent example. That was his offense, as a coordinator, that on Oct. 20, 2018, stumbled in the red zone early and eventually put up a bunch of empty yards in a 49-20 implosion.
