Ohio State’s next freshman to impact the Michigan game might come from its secondary

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Malik Hartford spent most of the offseason earning the opportunity in front of him during Ohio State’s home opener against Youngstown State, but that doesn’t mean he was ready for it. The freshman safety stepped in for Josh Proctor at the adjuster position, but was pulled by the end of the first series. The things he had been flashing dating back to spring practice didn’t translate. But that should have been expected from someone who hadn’t yet been in an environment like that.
