James Quick Update

I talked to Buckeye wide receiver James Quick yesterday. Quick attends Trinity High School (KY) and is visiting for the spring game this weekend. I’ll release the whole interview with James after we recap his spring game visit. Here are a few quick things you all should know before James visits this weekend. Visiting this Saturday for the spring game. On the visit he is looking for a “good time” and “great fan base”. Ohio State and Louisville are recruiting him the hardest. No leaders right now. Speaks with Coaches Hinton and Smith. Also speaks with Coach Meyer “a lot”. It seems to me the Buckeyes’ are putting the full court press on Quick from what he had to tell me. Look for the full interview with James on Sunday after we recap his visit for the spring game.

9th Commit Tracy Sprinkle

A few weeks ago I was able to catch up with Elyria defensive lineman Tracy Sprinkle. He had just returned from his visit to Ohio State and had a great time. At that point Sprinkle only made it clear that he would commit to a school when the time felt right, and the school was the best fit. That school that was the best fit was Ohio State, and that time that felt right was today, as Tracy Sprinkle issued his pledge to the Ohio State coaching staff, becoming the 9th member.

Update on DE Jordan Sherit

I had the pleasure with catching up with Tampa, FL defensive end Jordan Sherit this evening. I really enjoyed talking with Sherit as he is very polite and just a joy to get to know and talk to. This past season Sherit accumulated 14 sacks and 110 tackles for his high school team. Additionally Sherit also impacted the offensive side of the ball, garnering around 100 receiving yards to go with 3 touchdowns.

An Introduction to 2014 Linebacker Raekwon McMillan

The 2013 class is starting to fill up fast, some may notnotice all of the 2014 players starting to receive offers. One of the mostrecent 2014 players to receive an offer is Georgia linebacker Raekwon McMillan.McMillan recently visited campus and received his offer while he was on campus. He is the first or second linebacker Coach Meyer has offered in the 2014 classdepending on how you view Kevin Crosby. This is hopefully the first of manyupdates we will have with Raekwon as he has agreed to talk to us again afterhis next visits. Keep reading to find out what Raekwon had to say about hisfirst visit to Ohio State.

Buckeye Commit #8 Marcus Baugh

Following recruitment offers its ups and downs, and sometimes, plenty of surprises. On this day, April 10th, 2012, it was no different. As most of us were formulating guesses about who the next commit would be in the class of 2012, nobody would have guessed Riverside, California tight end Marcus Baugh.

Heuerman or McNeil?

This past weekend while writing up my mock class, the name Marcus Baugh never crossed my mind. Today, Baugh just announced his commitment to Ohio State, which shocked me. The commitment of Baugh leaves room for only one more tight end in the Buckeyes’ 2013 recruiting class.

Laquon Treadwell Visit Reaction

Crete-Monee wide receiver Laquon Treadwell finally made his much-anticipated visit to Ohio State yesterday. Treadwell just became a lot more important to the Buckeyes if the rumors about Ohio State no longer pursing Robert Foster are true. Laquon’s visit went very well. We discussed what he saw, his favorite parts, and much more! Stay tuned for future updates on Laquon and his recruitment to Ohio State!

Quick Derrick Green Update

I’ve already talked to Derrick, so there’s really no need for a long introduction. However,Derrick in my opinion is the most underrated player in the 2013 class in my opinion. We basically discuss his upcoming visits here. Enjoy!

Derek’s Mock Class of 2013 Buckeyes

I will go off the premesis that we will have 20 commits. Right now there is only room for 15, but with attrition usually averaging around 4 throughout a football season after spring ball, and with a possible early departure from Jonathan Hankins, I am projecting 20. I think we take two quarterbacks. J.T. Barrett (OSU-Baylor battle) Mitch Trubisky (Think he’s ours if we want him) Still in the mix: Aaron Bailey I think we take two running backs. Ezekiel Elliott (committed) Derrick Green (think he’s ours to lose Still in the mix: David Williams I think we take three wide receivers. Jalin Marshall (committed) Shelton Gibson (June) James Quick (visiting for spring game)

Miles’ 2013 Mock Class

A couple of weeks ago, Derek and I both did a quick projected class and didn’t go too in depth with the class. In the past couple of weeks there have been guys that have committed to Ohio State and guys with Buckeye offers that have committed elsewhere.
