Committed: Jayme Thompson

It has been long known the Buckeye would need at least one safety in the 2013 class. A few weeks ago I doubt anyone would have guessed Jayme as the first safety to commit to the 2013 class. I am very happy with this commitment, as Jayme is rated as a 4*Safety on some recruiting websites. Jayme’s commitment may also help us in the recruitment of his teammate, 2014 elite Quarterback DeShone Kizer. Enjoy my chat with Jayme Thompson, the newest Buckeye!

Elijah Daniel Update

After Greg Webbcommitted to Penn State yesterday, I now believe one of the Buckeyes” toptargets on the defensive line is Elijah Daniel. Daniel reports 21 offersaccording to 247 sports. If I were to predict the defensive linemen that end upin this class, I would guess them to be Joey Bosa and Elijah. Elijah is anIndiana kid, but has no offer from Notre Dame, so I would not expect them to bein the way of the Buckeyes for Daniel’s services. Perhaps the biggest thingDaniel told me is that he may be visiting for the spring game. I hope you enjoymy chat with Elijah Daniel!

Committed: Ezekiel Elliott

Ezekiel was one of the people that I predicted to be in this class a couple of weeks ago. I got a bit nervous that he might go to Notre Dame after his visit, but in the end, he ended up a Buckeye. Ezekiel is one of my favorite commits so far and is vastly underrated. He is the PERFECT fit for Coach Meyer’s new offense. We already have a ton of power backs, so I feel it was really important to get a scat back like Ezekiel.Ezekiel told me the staff said they’re only one running back, which would of course be Ezekiel. However, it’s my belief that the staff would except a commitment from either Derrick Green or Ty Isaac. Nobody else. All this being said, I hope you enjoy the interview with one of the newest Buckeyes, Ezekiel Elliott!

Introduction to Jonathan Haden

Jonathan Haden is the most recent sophomore prospect the Buckeyes and Coach Meyer have offered. Does the last name Haden look familiar to you? Yes it’s Joe Haden’s little brother. Jonathan is being recruited as a running back by the Buckeyes.Ohio State was only Jonathan’s second offer, which can only be good, there’s a chance for higher interest if you offer a recruit earlier rather than later. I think there is a very good chance that Jonathan ends up a Buckeye eventually.Having a brother that played for Coach Meyer and is an NFL star in Cleveland cannot hurt one bit. I hope you enjoy the interview!

Update on DT Maurice Hurst Jr

The newest offer in the class of 2013 was given out to defensive tackle Maurice Hurst Jr. The defensive tackle is from Westwood, Massachusetts and plays at Xaverian Brothers High School. This past season was his junior season at the school. “Last season went pretty good”, said Hurst. “I really loved how coach got me involved in the offense.” Despite his enjoyment of being included in the offense, Hurst is being recruited solely as a defensive tackle.
