COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s head coach Ryan Day was to sign a highly-rated quarterback in every recruiting class. That philosophy is why the coaching staff scrambled back into recruiting mode the moment 2022 commit Quinn Ewers skipped his senior year of high school and arrived in August. “We weren’t going to force it,” Day said. “We had to find someone that we thought fit.” The Buckeyes looked at ‘two or three guys,’ starting with in-state five-star Drew Allar hoping to flip him from Penn State.
