Ohio State football’s Ronnie Hickman plans to return in 2022, while other Buckeye NFL Draft decisions await


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ronnie Hickman made the most of his first starting role, rarely leaving the field and establishing himself as arguably Ohio State football’s most consistent defender. The safety said Thursday he plans to resume that role in 2022. While he is a third-year sophomore eligible for the NFL Draft, Hickman said he plans to return to Ohio State for another season. Other Buckeyes said they have not made their NFL Draft decisions, including defensive end Zach Harrison, offensive lineman Dawand Jones and cornerback Cameron Brown. But all said they plan to play in the Rose Bowl against Utah on Jan. 1 regardless. Hickman’s 97 tackles led Ohio State by a wide margin — almost doubling Cody Simon’s 54.
